As I was recently browsing through the current player rankings in one of my PPR leagues, I noticed the dramatic difference between current point leaders and their preseason rankings. I decided to conduct a one-man mock draft to detail how players might get drafted if a new season started today. Each “team” picked the best player available, disregarding previous picks.

Observations
1. Round 1 is actually quite similar to 2009. Amazingly, only Vincent Jackson was not in Round 1 of any 2009 PPR drafts.
2. Although MJD was a popular surprise #1 overall PPR pick, the consensus was still Adrian Peterson. Next year, I expect MJD to be the majority #1 overall PPR guy, with All Day dropping to the 4th RB taken in some drafts (behind MJD, CJ, and Ray Rice).
3. I anticipate even more WR’s being taken early in 2010. I have 10 WR’s being taken in this draft in the first two rounds, the same as the number of running backs.
4. A pair of players who were not even drafted in many leagues in 2009, Miles Austin and Mike Sims-Walker, went in the 3rd round.
5. I expect all QB’s to drop from the first round of most 2010 drafts after up to three (Manning, Brady, Brees) went in Round 1 of many 2009 drafts.
