Fantasyfootball.com Staff League Recap Week 8

The Fantasyfootball.com Staff League is a league that is housed on fantasybowl.com and features 14 members of the site’s staff.  My week 8 match-up was against Brian Pearson’s Six Kings squad that featured Eli Manning, Ray Rice, Marion Barber, DeSean Jackson and Frank Gore.  Looking at then lineup compared to mine, I figured I had a long day on my hands, especially with guys like Ray Rice, who has been a PPR monster this season.  DeSean Jackson always seems to break off long TD catches and Sydney Rice has had a break-out season in his 3rd year as WR.  I was confident that Matt Schaub, Chris Johnson and Roddy White could do the job.  Here is a snapshot of our starting lineups for week 8:

I had a mediocre performance from Matt Schaub but, I was saved by huge games by Chris Johnson, Roddy White and the Chicago D against the Browns.  Also, who would have thought that Joseph Addai would have thrown more TD passes than Schaub?  Brian’s squad had a key player on bye in Cedric Benson and left Frank Gore’s 24 points on the bench.  In this instance, it would not have mattered, as he couldn’t overcome underwhelming outputs from Sydney Rice, Devery Henderson and Marcedes Lewis.  The win stops my losing streak at 2 games but, increases the Six Kings’ losing streak to 2.  Week 9 will be a battle for theNational Division as I take on George Kerwood’s Spi’s Like Us squad while Brian’s Six Kings takes on Ryan Brooks.
