Mendenhall Could Get Work Early

Despite having fumbling problems in the preseason, Ed Bouchette, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, expects Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall to see "plenty of time" in the backfield at the start of the season.
Mendenhall has run well so far in three games, but he coughed up two fumbles last weekend against the Vikings. He will have to hold onto the ball this weekend if he wants his touches to expand going into Week 1. He remains RB Willie Parker's handcuff.
