Merriman Will Play Through Pain

Chargers LB Shawne Merriman has informed the team that he will go against doctors orders and play this year.
Doctors unanimously told Merriman he should undergo surgery to repair torn ligaments in his knee. They said he could play this year, but he would be "a shell" of the player he was last year. Plus, he risks causing further damage. Merriman is stubborn, but this could be the best team the Chargers have had in awhile, so he wants to be in there if they make a Super Bowl run. We honestly don't see Merriman playing all sixteen games, so we would keep him off our rankings.
