Week 9 Chop Blocks

Good evening everyone.  Just some quick news and notes around the league before Monday Night Football kicks off:

-This is the last week for byes.  Unfortunately, one of the top ranked QBs and Andre Johnson are on bye

-Steve Slaton owners can also be thankful that the Texans are on bye

-Week 10 also begins Thursday Night Football.  Make sure to check your lineups before hand

-Huge blow to the Panthers and Thomas Davis owners as he’s lost for the rest of the season with a torn ACL

-Bengals also lost WR, Chris Henry, for the rest of the season.  But, will the Bengals really notice?

-Brian Westbrook owners will have to hope that headaches cease, as he will not suit up if they continue

-Looks like those that claimed or drafted Jamaal Charles will, possibly, have a golden ticket to cash in.  Week 14-15 match-ups with Buffalo and Cleveland could=$$$$$

-Two huge weeks in a row for Chris Johnson.  Also, he’s getting the goal-line carries.  LenDale White can be officially dropped in all formats

-Is there more of a lock for Defensive Rookie of the Year than Brian Cushing?  He’s also going to be an MVP for IDP leaguers

-2009 Comeback Player of the Year goes to Cedric Benson as of right now, too

-2009 Offensive Rookie of the Year is pretty open at this point; I give Percy Harvin the edge right now

-Of course this was the week that Greg Olsen breaks out.  I apologize to anyone that I recommended benching Olsen this week.  Who’d a thunk it?

-Unreal that the New York Giants let that game slip away.

-Michael Turner is paying late dividends as the top 2 pick.  Another 166 yards and 2 scores

-Huge game for Bernard Pollard.  Looks like he’s paid huge dividends for the Houston defense thus far

-Does David Hawthorne get the waiver wire pick-up of the year in 2009 in IDP leagues?

-It looks like defenses have just about figured out Miles Austin (even though his lone catch was a 49 yard TD catch)

-At least the Browns didn’t subject NFL fans to horrible football this weekend.  Why would Mike Holmgren want to come here??

-Chris Chambers surfaces in Kansas City and drops 2 scores.  Of course he did….

Just remember to get in your lineups this Thursday.  Frank Gore, Vernon Davis, Jay Cutler, Matt Forte, Greg Olsen are good starts this week….
