In the world of IDP, the waiver wire can be your best friend. If you keep an eye and an ear on injuries and position changes or battles, snagging the hot pickup from the wire can help your team to victory. Now that the playoffs are upon us, here are some IDPs that can help your squad:
1. Tyrone Carter, SS (PIT): Tyrone Carter will be Pittsburgh’s starting strong safety for the remainder of the season (or as long as Troy Polamalu remains out). He’s filled in pretty admirably at the position, posting no less then 4 solos and is coming off of a 9 solo tackle effort against the Browns. He has a favorable match-up this week against the Packers.
2. Raheem Brock, DE (IND): Raheem Brock has done well in the limited snaps that he’s received. He has 2 sacks in the last 2 weeks and has done more than Robert Mathis in that timeframe also. If you’re in need of help at the DE, he’s a worthwhile flier against a Jaguars that hasn’t been all that great.
3. Chris Harris, SS (CAR): He’s been producing as of late and has 2 straight weeks of 7 total tackles (6 solos). He’s still only a few seasons removed from being one of the top DBs in IDP, so if you’re looking for DB help, you could do a lot worse.
4. James Anderson, LB (CAR): He’s had 22 total tackles in the last 3 weeks, producing 6 solos in two out of those three weeks. He’s getting more snaps since the Panther linebacking corps has been depleted due to injury. He’s also playing an IDP friendly weak-side linebacker position, so he’s definitely worth grabbing if you need the help.
5. Sean Jones, FS (PHI): He’s had an up and down season in Philadelphia but, if his performance in week 14 is a sign of things to come, he could be a huge fantasy producer over the next few weeks coming off a 6 solo/4 assist game against the Giants. Jones could help out in the run game against the 49′ers in week 15 and then he sees Brandon Marshall and the Broncos in week 16.
