Welcome to my week 7 version of this article. Waiver wires are thinner are extremely bare by now but there still might be a diamond in the rough in some leagues. Here are a few RBs and WRs to consider as we head into week 7:
Running Backs
1. Justin Fargas (OAK)
2. Laurence Maroney (NEP)
3. Kevin Faulk (NEP)
4. Jason Snelling (ATL)
5. Chris Brown (HOU)
Justin Fargas was productive with his carries against a tough Philadelphia defense that doesn’t give up yardage easily. He had 23 carries to Michael Bush’s 6, so it appears that he’s taking the lead role over during Darren McFadden’s absence (plus, he’s already ruled out for week 7). Laurence Maroney broke off a long TD in the snow and, as the snow and cold weather takes over, he could be called on for more carries. The 19 total touches was encouraging and Bill Belichick has expressed his confidence in him, as well. Kevin Faulk is another sneaky add, mostly in PPR leagues since he’s so dependable out of the backfield and Sammy Morris’s injury status is up in the air at this point. Jason Snelling and Chris Brown should be added is handcuffs for their respective starters, especially Snelling, if Jerious Norwood misses any time.
Wide Receivers
1. James Jones (GBP)
2. Michael Crabtree (SF)
3. Mike Thomas (JAC)
4. Eddie Royal (DEN)
5. Mike Wallace (PIT)
It was announced that James Jones would be the primary #3 WR, since Jordy Nelson went down with a knee injury. He’ll see an increase in playing time and snaps and makes a very good add in deeper leagues and is someone to keep an eye in 12-teamers. Michael Crabtree is probably going to start right away and will take over Josh Morgan’s spot. He’s someone to add right away but, take a wait and see approach as he’ll be rusty. Mike Thomas did, however, get the eye of David Garrard to the tune of 9 targets and converted those to 7 catches. He makes a nice add in deeper leagues, especially for a bye-week fill-in or injury replacement. Eddie Royal should now be added if he hasn’t already, especially in leagues that count individual return yardage. It looks like he’ll be the sole returner going forward. He still makes a risky play, however, as a WR3 since he didn’t have any receptions on his 4 targets. Mike Wallace’s targets are a bit inconsistent but he has big play ability as he can turn those catches into huge chunks of yardage (averaging 16.4 YPC). As the season wears on, he could get more looks.

Mental, I like the list. I forgot about James Jones, that is a good one. I liked him as rookie, keep waiting for him to breakout. With Driver still churning out the yards and obviously Jennings and Nelson and a couple of receiving TEs, plus Jones struggling with his own drops, has has yet to shine consistently. Maybe this is his chance.

Chris, Nelson is out 2-6 weeks with a knee injury, this will benefit Jones a great deal as he is now the absolute 3rd WR for GB.
